Race Fans Can Ride The Car Of Tomorrow Today At
DIS
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Beginning Friday, for the
first time ever at historic Daytona International Speedway, race
fans will have the opportunity to ride in a NASCAR Car of Tomorrow
with Richard Petty Driving Experience (RPDE).
RPDE will have three Car of Tomorrow race cars,
including Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s No. 8 Budweiser Chevrolet,
delivering once-in-a-lifetime experiences to race fans on the famed
high banks of Daytona International Speedway at speeds of more than
160 miles per hour.
All of the Car of Tomorrow race cars with RPDE will
be complete with the Car of Tomorrow body design and features,
highlighted by the rear wing. More Car of Tomorrow race cars will
be added to RPDE at DIS in the coming months.
The Car of Tomorrow, which made its debut this
spring, has been in development for more than five years by
NASCAR's Research and Development Center and is designed to be
safer, more competitive and cheaper for the race teams.
The Car of Tomorrow will be utilized by NASCAR
teams on a full time basis in 2008 and will make its race debut at
DIS during DirecTV Speedweeks 2008 with the 50th running of the
Daytona 500, the Gatorade Duel at Daytona and the Budweiser
Shootout.
DIS is home to Richard Petty Driving Experience
through October. A variety of ride-along opportunities and driving
packages are available. For more information, visit www.1800BEPETTY.com or
